Microsoft Copilot

September brought on a whirlwind of innovation, and Microsoft Copilot was at the forefront, bringing a slew of new features that are set to revolutionize your productivity game. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie (like me!), these updates are designed to make your life easier and more efficient. So, grab your favorite beverage, sit back, and let’s explore a recap of what’s new in Microsoft Copilot this month!

Drive Copilot Usage with the User Enablement Toolkit

First up, we have the Copilot User Enablement Toolkit. This nifty toolkit is your new best friend, packed with communication templates and resources to inspire better Copilot engagement. Whether you’re a manager or a user, you’ll find role-specific prompt examples and use cases that are tailored to your needs. It’s all about making Copilot work for you, and this toolkit is here to help you do just that.

Upskill with Microsoft Copilot Academy

Next on the list is the expanded access to Microsoft Copilot Academy. No longer restricted to those with a paid Viva license, this Academy is now available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Curated by Microsoft experts, the Academy offers a comprehensive learning experience with hands-on activities to help you master Copilot. It’s like having a personal tutor guiding you through the ins and outs of Copilot, making you a pro in no time. I personally cannot wait to try this out! Stay tuned and I will be sure to share more.

Expanded Controls for Teams Meetings

For those who live and breathe Teams meetings (like me), this one’s for you. Microsoft has introduced expanded controls for managing the availability of Copilot in Teams meetings. IT admins and meeting organizers can now set Copilot to ‘Off’ per tenant, per user, or both. Meeting organizers also have three choices: Only during the meeting, During and after the meeting, and Off. It’s all about giving you more control over your meeting experience. I like this – what do you think?

Generate Images and Use Pre-Built Agents with Business Chat

Business Chat just got a whole lot cooler. You can now generate images and use pre-built agents, making your chats more dynamic and engaging. Whether you’re brainstorming ideas or collaborating on a project, these new features will take your Business Chat experience to the next level.

Reference Longer Content with Copilot in Word

Writers and content creators, rejoice! Copilot in Word now allows you to reference longer content and get started on documents faster. Whether you’re drafting a report or writing a novel, this feature will save you time and effort, letting you focus on what you do best – creating amazing content. I haven’t tried this yet but I am looking forward to giving it a shot. One thing to note is this is out for the web tool but not the desktop or Mac – that will be in October.

Capture Every Thought with Copilot in OneNote

Last but not least, we have Copilot in OneNote. This feature is designed to help you capture every thought, idea, and note seamlessly. Whether you’re in a meeting or brainstorming session, Copilot in OneNote ensures that nothing slips through the cracks.

Admittedly, I am not a OneNote user, but I wonder if this new change will get me more into the OneNote mindset. What do you think? Do you like this one? Will you use OneNote differently now?

Until Next Time

And there you have it, folks! The new features for Microsoft Copilot that came out in September 2024 are all about enhancing your productivity and making your work life smoother and more enjoyable. So, go ahead and explore these updates, and let Microsoft Copilot be your trusty sidekick in your daily tasks. Until next time, stay productive!
